Our Business Areas and Portfolio
At ENRAIL, we realise innovative niche projects in the field of energy infrastructure. Every project is carefully planned and implemented to the highest technological and economic standards. Below are selected examples of our project work.
Realised PV Rail Power Projects in Austria
- The first agri-PV rail power plant with a capacity of 13 MWp and generating 19 GWh/year — enough to power approx. 4,000 Railjet trips from Villach to Vienna annually
- Direct feed-in to the railway overhead line (15 kV, 16.7 Hz)
- Biodiversity Impact:
- Sheltering 6,000 free-range hens, producing 2 million eggs per year
- 80 grazing sheep
- In-house honey production
- 300 apple trees creating a natural visual screen (traditional orchard for juice production)
- Wildlife corridors
- Flower strips with regional seed varieties
PV Rail Power Projects in Development
- 22 MWp under construction: Project already contracted and in execution
- 200 MWp pipeline: Rail power PV project development in Austria
- 400 MWp Pipeline: Rail power PV project development in Germany through our Joint Venture with Goldbeck Solar Invest
Battery Storage Project Development
- High-performance, intelligent large-scale storage systems: We develop battery storage systems with capacities ranging from 10 to 30 MW to strengthen and stabilise the power grid.
- 500 MW portfolio: Extensive development of grid-supporting stand-alone battery storage systems, co-located solutions directly connected to solar or wind farms, as well as large-scale storage systems at industrial sites.
- Of this, 150 MW in Austria and 350 MW in Germany in planning and under development
