Johannes Krainer

Founder and CEO

Johannes is the founder and CEO of ENRAIL. He brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the energy sector, with a strong international track record in developing, implementing, and financing renewable energy projects, as well as in M&A transactions.

After completing his degree in International Business Administration at the University of Vienna, Johannes spent over a decade working in consultancy. His roles included interim management and post-merger integration at Capgemini / OMV Petrom and KPMG, where he specialised in M&A transactions involving medium-sized companies and in projects in the renewable energy sector, such as hydropower, wind power and solar energy.

Since 2010, Johannes has been a successful entrepreneur in the energy sector. Since 2026, he has also been a founding member and board member of the Federal Association for Energy Storage in Austria.

Kurt Mühlgrabner

Electrical Engineer, CTO

Kurt bridges the technical and commercial realities at ENRAIL. He brings 35 years of experience in electrical plant engineering and the delivery of complex projects. As a certified mediator and trained knowledge manager, he contributes well beyond the technical side, connecting project ideas with their implementation.

After completing his electrical engineering training at HTL Wiener Neustadt, Kurt spent 20 years in various roles at the technology group ABB. Following his studies at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna, he spent 10 years at a start-up building PV and small-scale storage systems. After another three years in project management for the development of EV charging infrastructure, he decided to focus on solving the challenge of limited grid capacity.

Since 2024, Kurt has been responsible for technology at ENRAIL and has been a passionate advocate for the large-scale storage systems needed in the power grid.
