Johannes Krainer
Founder and CEO
Johannes is the founder and CEO of ENRAIL. He brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the energy sector, with a strong international track record in developing, implementing, and financing renewable energy projects, as well as in M&A transactions.
After completing his degree in International Business Administration at the University of Vienna, Johannes spent over a decade working in consultancy. His roles included interim management and post-merger integration at Capgemini / OMV Petrom and KPMG, where he specialised in M&A transactions involving medium-sized companies and in projects in the renewable energy sector, such as hydropower, wind power and solar energy.
Since 2010, Johannes has been a successful entrepreneur in the energy sector. Since 2026, he has also been a founding member and board member of the Federal Association for Energy Storage in Austria.

As a founding and board member of the Bundesverbandes Energiespeicher Österreich, the Austrian Federal Association for Energy Storage, ENRAIL is actively involved in shaping clear regulatory frameworks for energy storage and strengthening its integration into Austria’s energy system. We bring practical experience to this work, for more stable, renewable and affordable energy.
