Johannes Krainer

Founder and CEO

Johannes is the founder and CEO of ENRAIL. He brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the energy sector, with a strong international track record in developing, implementing, and financing renewable energy projects, as well as in M&A transactions.

After studying International Business Administration at the University of Vienna, Johannes spent over a decade in consulting. He held roles in interim management and post-merger integration at Capgemini / OMV Petrom and KPMG, where he specialised in M&A transactions for mid-sized companies and renewable energy projects such as hydropower, wind, and solar. Since 2010, Johannes has been a successful entrepreneur in the energy industry.

Philipp Kraemer

Managing Partner

Philipp brings 25 years of experience in the finance and energy sectors across Europe and North America. His career includes positions at Sal. Oppenheim, Beowulf Energy, and CCE, with a focus on alternative investment solutions and the development, construction, and operations of utility-scale energy generation and infrastructure assets.

Philipp was motivated to join forces with ENRAIL after not only seeing gaps in the market for a fully integrated development business focused primarily on battery storage, but also seeing the need for energy flexibility driven by the rapid transition to renewables in Germany, across Europe and globally.

As Managing Partner of ENRAIL, Philipp is leading investments and operations across the energy value chain. In terms of the battery storage project development life cycle, Philipp is involved on a day-to-day basis across development, techno-economic optimisation, investment, project finance, asset management, and energy trading.
